Certified Copy

of a Line Item Entry from the Sequential Journal

 

Remember,

California code prohibits notaries from certifying copies of documents other than copies of the notary’s:

 

lSequential journal
lPower of attorney

 

ØA certified copy is an exact duplicate of the original document that is certified by the notary to be a true, correct and an unaltered photocopy.

 

Any person may ask for a certified copy of a line item entry from the notaries sequential journal but must submit a written request with the following information to the notary;

The written request shall include:

l1.  The name of the principal document signer

l2.  The title of document notarized

l3.  The month and year of notarization

After the notary receives the written request from a person,

1.  The notary will find the entry in the journal.

2.  The notary will make a copy of the line item entry.

3.  The notary will complete or fill in a Certified Copy-Line Item Entry loose leaf certificate and attach the certificate to the copy of the line item entry.
