SECTION 12.  CONFIDENTIAL MARRIAGES

Confidential Marriages

 

 
The license to perform confidential marriages may be issued to a notary by the county clerk in the notary’s county of residence provided that the notary completes a course of study with the county clerk And the notary is also a priest, minister or rabbi
 
The license is valid for a period of 90 days and may only be used in the county in which it was issued
 
A notary shall not authorize a confidential marriage unless he or she is approved by the county clerk in the notary’s county of residence.
