A notary public may be fined up to $1,500.00 for the following violations:
 
1.The willful failure to discharge any of the duties of a notary public.

 

2.The use of false or misleading advertising wherein the notary has represented that the notary has duties, rights, or privileges that he or she does not possess by law.

 

3.The commission of any act involving dishonesty, fraud, or deceit with the intent to substantially benefit the notary or substantially injure another.

 

4.Execution of any certificate as a notary containing a statement known to the notary to be false.
