Above the Law - Misconduct

Misconduct occurs when a notary:

1. Violates a law or a code

2. Violates a regulation

3. Violates an official directive

4. Shows little care or judgment.

Resignation or expiration of the commission does not bar an investigation or disciplinary action

A notary may have the right to a hearing prior to revocation or suspension, or after denial of his/her commission.
