1.The journal is the most important source of documented evidence available to the State of California

 

2.Notary codes require notaries to document  notary services in the sequential journal and to respond within 30 days of receiving a written request, sent by certified mail from the Secretary of State’s office, for information relating to official acts performed by the notary.

 

3.You are required to send the journal to the County Clerk within 30 days after the expiration of notary’s commission.
